Several central government departments will be housed in a new building this week. The new building–called Kartavya Bhavan–will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.  

The ED initiated an investigation under PMLA on the basis of multiple FIRs registered by the various Police Stations of Karnataka against the company and its promoters, on allegations of cheating, cheating by impersonation and criminal conspiracy.

The arrest is linked to a case involving alleged cheating of investors through an illegal trading practice known as “front-running,” involving over Rs 200 crore.

Weather Update: The Meteorological (MeT) office, on Sunday, issued a red alert warning for rain in several North Bengal districts, with scattered thunderstorms likely to continue in South Bengal districts for the next few days.

The Central Government has notified the Vegetable Oil Products Production and Availability (Regulation) Amendment Order, 2025, introducing a stricter regulatory framework for the industry. Issued by the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, the new order comes into immediate effect.

The PIL, filed by evangelist K.A. Paul, urged the government to introduce a uniform central law to prohibit or regulate betting and gambling activities. Paul highlighted the growing issue of celebrity endorsements by top cricketers, actors, and influencers, claiming they entice children and youth into betting.
