Senior IAS officer Avinash Kumar has been appointed Chief Secretary of Jharkhand, succeeding Alka Tiwari after her retirement.

Over 11.31 lakh health camps have been held under the Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan, screening 6.51 crore citizens nationwide. The fortnight-long initiative has prioritised women and child health with record screenings and immunisation coverage.

Responding to Sharif’s talk of wanting peace with India, said Gahlot firmly, “The Pakistani Prime Minister has spoken about wanting peace with India. If he is indeed sincere, the pathway is clear. Pakistan must immediately shut down all terrorist camps and hand over to us the terrorists wanted in India.”

The situation deteriorated rapidly after officials opened the gates of Himayat Sagar following continuous heavy rainfall across the state.
