The Delhi High Court has called for legislative clarity on the Uniform Civil Code, saying conflicting personal and national laws risk criminalising communities. The court made the observation while granting bail in a case involving marriage under Muslim personal law.

The Supreme Court on Friday, September 26, allowed certified manufacturers to produce green firecrackers in Delhi and the adjoining NCR districts but said they cannot be sold in the region until further orders.
