The Election Commission of India has begun a nationwide Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter rolls after announcing the Bihar Assembly election schedule. The CEC reaffirmed that the revision is a statutory process under the Representation of the People Act. Bihar’s final electoral roll now stands at 7.42 crore after a large-scale update.
