Electronics and IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has announced a horizontal scheme to promote the manufacturing of select passive electronic components. This scheme is set to benefit a number of industries such as automobiles, consumer electronics and electronics. The announcement comes days after the Union Cabinet approved a production-linked incentive scheme for the domestic electronics component manufacturing space.
