Describing the heatwave action plan, Gupta said, “one thousand water coolers on the road, one thousand in government buildings and one thousand in remote areas. The roads on which we walk need shade, so the government will install cooling shelters and also improve the bus stops. The Delhi government will issue heat alerts in collaboration with the Meteorological Department. Heat wards will be built in big hospitals.”
