Tripura recorded a 64 per cent jump in domestic tourist arrivals and a 36 per cent rise in foreign visitors between 2023 and 2024, making it the Northeast’s second most visited state for international travellers after Sikkim. Officials credit improved infrastructure, site development and upcoming projects for the surge, with tourism growth expected to create jobs and support local businesses.
